While cleaning the kitchen floor often seems like a chore, it does not need to be. These tips will help you easily clean your kitchen flooring quickly.

Ceramic Tile

Tile flooring can get dirty easily, especially when it comes to the grout between the tiles. When you clean tile flooring, you need to clean all the grout before you clean the tiles. You can do this by making a home cleaning solution with 2 parts water and 1 part white vinegar. Pour the mixture into your spray bottle and saturate the grout with it. Then mop up the floor as usual.

Cleaning the tile will require a bucket, some dish-washing detergent, and a mop. First, sweep up your floor to get rid of all the debris and dirt on the surface. Look along the kitchen's edges against the cabinets and walls where dirt can become stuck. Consider refreshing the water as you go if your floors are very dirty. Allow the floor to air dry, and your tile and grout will be looking clean afterwards.

Laminate Wood

You'll want to avoid using a mop to clean laminate wood flooring. Instead, use a soft cloth on the floors with a homemade cleaning solution. All you need to do is mix water (1 gallon) with white vinegar (1 cup). Avoid scratches in the floor by sweeping up all of the debris and dirt before you clean it.

Soak your cloth with the cleaning solution and thoroughly wring the cloth out. Start in a corner with wiping your floor down. Turn your cloth over when it gets dirty, and rinse it out when you run out of clean surfaces to wipe the floor with. Let the floor air dry for the best possible results with laminate wood, and it should be shining nicely in the end.

Vinyl

Vinyl flooring will require a different cleaning solution. Fill up a bucket with warm water (1 gallon) and ammonia (1 cup). The ammonia helps remove the dirt from the floor's grooves without causing damage. Use a damp mop to avoid over-saturating your floors with the cleaning solution. You can then use clean, warm water for rinsing your floors, which will remove cleaning residue and help create a very nice shine.
